Italy recalls Zorbas hummus and Jelly’s Kawaii candies over safety concerns

The Italian Ministry of Health has issued two separate food recalls. A batch of Zorbas brand chickpea hummus (lot 110601, expiration 08/09/2026) was withdrawn as a precaution because of possible Salmonella contamination. The product, made by Amvrosia S.A. in Sindos, Greece, is sold in 200‑gram tubs and consumers are advised not to eat it and to return it to the point of sale.

A second recall involves Jelly’s Kawaii Fruity Assorted Jelly Straws (lot 02072025, expiration July 2027) due to the presence of the unauthorized food additive E 425 (Konjac). The sweets are produced in China and distributed in Italy and elsewhere in Europe by PEPISCR S.r.o. of the Czech Republic. No illness reports have been received, and the Ministry urges anyone who bought the products to discard them.
