Italy records two serious traffic accidents in July 2026
On the night of 12 July 2026, a 25‑year‑old driver lost control of her car on Via Pesciatina in the Zone district of Lucca and crashed violently into a wall. Passers‑by called emergency services; the driver was extracted at the scene, treated on‑site and taken in critical condition to the San Luca Hospital.
Two days later, on 14 July 2026, a motorcyclist was involved in a severe collision with a car on Via Legnano in Pirri, near the intersection with Via Santa Maria Chiara. The rider was thrown onto the road and underneath the vehicle, sustaining grave injuries. He was rushed by paramedics to the Brotzu Hospital, where he remains in a guarded prognosis.
Both incidents prompted police investigations and traffic control measures at the crash sites.
