Torre del Cerrano receives funds for AI surveillance and fire prevention
The Torre del Cerrano Marine Protected Area has been allocated over 262,000 euros by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. The funding is intended for technological innovation, environmental safety, and sustainable mobility.
A significant portion of the resources, totaling approximately 53,000 euros, is dedicated to forest fire prevention in Zone B. This includes the installation of 20 thermal and optical cameras at six strategic locations to detect heat anomalies or smoke through automated remote monitoring systems. Additionally, plans are underway for the installation of dry hydrants to strengthen emergency response capabilities.
Other planned improvements include investments in sustainable infrastructure, such as superfast charging stations for electric vehicles and enhanced lighting for cycle paths, to balance biodiversity protection with modern services and citizen safety.
