Italy: Regional initiatives target sports facility upgrades

In Sicily, the municipality of Petralia Soprana has officially commenced a €295,000 redevelopment project for the historic center's sports field. Funded by the Sicilian Region, the works will be executed by Gangi Impianti S. r. l. to improve safety, functionality, and accessibility. The project includes upgrading systems, installing pitch fencing, and repairing dilapidated stands. Completion is expected by March 20, 2027.

In Calabria, regional authorities have met with the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (LND) to establish a strategic plan for upgrading local sports infrastructure. Following a survey that identified critical issues within the regional sports network, officials aim to prioritize interventions for safety and modernization. The initiative seeks to address urgent needs through coordinated programming and resource allocation to support social cohesion and territorial development.
