Italy reports attempted gold shop robbery in Caselle and supermarket theft in Siracusa

In the early hours of 14 July 2026, a gang attempted to break into the Gioiellissimi gold‑buying shop on Strada Aeroporto in Caselle, near Turin. The alarm sounded around 03:00 and the thieves fled empty‑handed, leaving structural damage that forced the shop to close temporarily for repairs.

Later that night in Siracusa, Sicily, cleaning‑staff employees of a supermarket were caught stealing large quantities of merchandise. Police intervened after surveillance footage showed four men and two women loading stolen goods onto a company van.
