Italy reports fatal car crash in Marcianise and stabbing attack in Messina

A 22‑year‑old woman, Rosa Rossetti, died in a violent collision on Viale Carlo III between Marcianise and San Marco Evangelista. She was travelling with her twin sister Alessandra in a grey Fiat 500 that lost control and rolled over. Rosa was declared dead on the scene, while Alessandra sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The Carabinieri of San Nicola la Strada are investigating the crash and will conduct further enquiries.

In Messina, a 57‑year‑old man attacked his 45‑year‑old brother with a kitchen knife during a heated family dispute in the Matteotti district. The victim suffered deep cuts to the neck, chest and arm but survived after emergency treatment at the Papardo Hospital. Police arrested the assailant on charges of aggravated attempted murder, and the prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into the incident.
