Italy reports multiple incidents of juvenile vandalism

Authorities in Italy have reported two separate incidents of vandalism involving minors.

In Grumello del Monte, Carabinieri identified and charged seven minors for damages caused to the Chapel of Calvary during the night of July 24-25. The group reportedly entered an uninhabited house adjacent to the chapel before breaking into the religious structure. During the raid, they shattered a display case and repeatedly damaged a statue of the Madonna. Investigators used surveillance footage from nearby areas and videos filmed by the youths themselves to identify the group. The minors have been referred to the judicial authorities for charges including trespassing and aggravated damage.

In Naples, two teenagers aged 14 and 15 were charged with aggravated damage in the Piscinola district. The youths were caught by Carabinieri while attempting to uproot a street bollard in a pedestrian area of Piazza Tafuri. The incident occurred during a patrol aimed at preventing the theft of city dissuaders, which had been frequently removed by local youths. The teenagers reportedly claimed the act was a prank intended to gain social media likes.
