Italy reports separate gunfire incidents in Somma Vesuviana and Rome

Two separate incidents involving gunfire have been reported in Italy. In Somma Vesuviana, shots were fired late in the evening in the square in front of the Santa Maria del Pozzo church. Preliminary investigations by the Carabinieri suggest that two young individuals on a scooter may have fired shots into the air before fleeing. Authorities recovered two blank shell casings at the scene.

In Rome, gunfire occurred on Via Casilina shortly after 7:00 AM following a heated dispute and brawl among a group of people. While the Polizia di Stato found no injuries or blood at the scene, several shell casings were recovered. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify those responsible.
