Italy reports two separate explosions damaging a bank ATM and a sports facility kitchen
On the night of 5 August 2026, a bomb detonated at 03:52 in the small town of Gudo Visconti, blowing up a Banca Agricola Mantovana ATM. The explosion caused extensive damage to the bank premises but no injuries were reported. Local Carabinieri and fire crews secured the site, and Mayor Omar Cirulli called for swift justice as investigators review surveillance footage.
Two days later, at around 07:00 on 7 August 2026, a violent blast erupted in the GPL‑powered kitchen of a sports facility in Pietralunga, Umbria. The explosion injured one person, who was treated on‑site and then air‑lifted to hospital. Firefighters from the Gubbio station contained the fire, cleared debris and began a safety investigation, while the cause of the deflagration remains under review.
