Olbia restaurant attack: Man arrested after knife assault leaves four injured

A 30-year-old man of Algerian nationality was arrested following a violent knife attack at the Ichi sushi restaurant in Olbia. During the incident, the assailant reportedly held the owner's wife at knifepoint, threatening her throat before a struggle ensued.

Four people, including two employees and two customers, sustained injuries during the altercation. While one individual was reported to have been more seriously injured, all victims are currently considered out of life-threatening danger and are receiving care at the Giovanni Paolo II hospital.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, serious injury, threats, resistance to public officials, and possession of a cutting weapon. Law enforcement agencies, including the State Police and Carabinieri, immobilized the attacker at the scene.

In response to the event, business associations FIPE and Confcommercio have expressed solidarity with the victims and called for increased security and institutional attention in urban tourist areas to ensure the safety of workers and patrons.
