Italy: Residential burglaries reported in Velletri and Vecchiano
Two separate residential burglaries have been reported in Italy. In Velletri, local police responded to a home in Largo Camangi after a neighbor noticed an open door and signs of forced entry. The elderly owner was away at the time. Investigators found tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and gloves at the scene, and noted that the lock had been replaced, leading to suspicions that the perpetrators intended to occupy the property. Stolen items included a high-value watch and a pearl necklace.
In Vecchiano, a burglary occurred on Via Roma while the residents were away. Local social media reports suggest the incident took place between 7:00 and 17:00. The Carabinieri are investigating the case, with preliminary assessments suggesting the theft may have been carried out by experienced professionals. Residents have been urged to increase security measures for their homes.
