Victor Lab restaurant faces backlash over offensive receipt message

A Brazilian tourist, Maria Clara, reported a disturbing incident at the Victor Lab restaurant in Romagna, Italy, after discovering a derogatory message on her breakfast receipt. The note, reportedly written by a 17-year-old server, read: “This is pissing me off. Burn the eggs and spit in them.”

The incident occurred after Clara requested that her scrambled eggs be cooked more thoroughly. The server reportedly responded dismissively before the message was printed on the bill. While the server claimed the note was a “joke” between himself and the chef, the family expressed fear regarding potential food contamination.

The restaurant management issued a public apology, stating the behavior was “absolutely inappropriate” and did not reflect their professional standards. However, the situation drew further criticism after the restaurant owner posted a TikTok video that appeared to mock the controversy, leading to additional backlash online.
