Italy roller hockey teams see mixed results at 2026 World Skate Games

At the 2026 World Skate Games, the Italian women's national roller hockey team secured a bronze medal after a 3-2 victory against Portugal. After a 0-4 loss to Argentina in the semifinals, the team, led by coach Valerio Antezza, rebounded with goals from Bertinato, Ghirardello, and Tamiozzo.

In the men's competition, the Italian national team suffered a 3-2 defeat against Spain in their opening Group A match at the COP Arena in Asunción. Despite taking a 2-1 lead into halftime through goals by Francesco Compagno and Leonardo Diquigiovanni, Italy conceded a hat-trick from Spanish captain Pau Bargallo Poch in the second half. The men's team remains in contention for the knockout stages, with upcoming matches scheduled against Switzerland and Portugal.
