Italy expands AI-driven education and innovation across universities, festivals and industry

The University of Bocconi in Milan is adding legal artificial‑intelligence tools to its law curriculum, partnering with US‑based Harvey and Sweden’s Legora to give students, teachers and researchers access to contract‑analysis and document‑drafting platforms. A forum on the future of legal education is planned for October.

The second edition of the Digeat Festival, organised by Digitalaw, will run from 5–8 November in Lecce and Gallipoli, featuring more than 150 experts discussing data‑protection, digital archives and AI, and concluding with a simulated trial of artificial intelligence.

Crif Spa announced a €79 million “AI Factory” investment to build a hybrid cloud and generative‑AI hub in Osteria Grande, near Bologna. The project aims to create a sustainable technology park capable of housing over 600 people and to strengthen the Emilia‑Romagna digital ecosystem.

The University of Milan launched the sixth edition of Seed4Innovation, a scouting programme that links academic research with market needs and offers €50 000 grants for projects in fields such as life sciences, digital transformation and agrifood.

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza will host a round‑table on AI, science, ethics and society on 24 July, bringing together scholars and practitioners to discuss responsible AI development.

Tor Vergata’s Faculty of Economics will run a two‑day laboratory on “Intelligent Prompting” on 17–18 July, teaching participants how to design prompts for generative AI in marketing, communication and content creation.

In the Marche region, the StemPower project, funded by the Digital Republic Fund, will involve around 800 secondary‑school students from five schools in practical AI and cybersecurity labs, combined with visits to 35 local companies.
