Italy rolls out free student transport, textbook vouchers and crèche book donations
The Emilia‑Romagna region has activated the "Salta Su" scheme, granting free public‑transport subscriptions to primary and secondary school pupils. Students who do not meet the income criteria can obtain an annual "Start Romagna Under 26" pass, with a one‑off €15 enrollment fee.
Rome's municipality will issue digital textbook vouchers for the 2026‑27 school year, allowing primary‑school students to collect free books at partner bookstores by presenting the pupil’s tax‑code. The voucher must be used by 20 January 2027.
