Italy Rugby 7s to compete in SVNS 3 tournament in Dubai

The HSBC SVNS 3 rugby sevens tournament is scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on November 27 and 28. The Italian men's team, led by coach Matteo Mazzantini, will participate in the event as part of the qualification process for the SVNS 2 series, which is set to begin in early 2027 in Nairobi, San Paolo, and Montevideo.

Success in Dubai offers a path toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. In the men's competition, Italy will face teams including Hong Kong, Canada, Chile, Zimbabwe, and Samoa. To secure promotion to SVNS 2, teams must reach the tournament final. The event coincides with the inaugural stage of the HSBC SVNS Series 2027.
