Italy school staff: New positions and leave regulations for ATA personnel
New administrative measures have been announced regarding ATA (Administrative, Technical, and Auxiliary) personnel in the Italian school system. For the 2026/2027 school year, 25 new school collaborator positions will be established within the actual staff organization of schools in the Campania region. These roles, which include tasks such as student supervision, access control, and facility maintenance, will be distributed across various locations, including Campagna, Agropoli, Ascea, Bellizzi, and Salerno.
Additionally, current regulations under the CCNL Scuola govern leave entitlements for permanent ATA staff. Permanent employees are entitled to three days of paid leave per school year for personal or family reasons. These absences must be motivated and can be documented via self-certification, covering a range of personal needs or family obligations without salary deductions.
