Italian authorities intervene in domestic violence arrests and mafia clan convictions

Police in Livorno arrested a 50‑year‑old man after he broke into his former partner’s parents’ home at night, confronting the woman who had sought refuge there. He was detained in the act, resisted arrest and was later placed under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

In a separate case, a court in Naples handed down multiple prison sentences to members of the De Rosa clan of Qualiano, a mafia organization linked to extortion and drug trafficking. Sentences ranged from two to fifteen years, confirming the anti‑mafia investigation’s findings.

Meanwhile, a court in Lamezia Terme dismissed charges against a 48‑year‑old Calabrian man accused of domestic abuse, ruling that the complaint was withdrawn and lifting all precautionary measures that had been imposed during the two‑year investigation.
