Italy sees two street fights injuring several people

In Rome's Torpignattara district, a dispute over a disabled parking space escalated into a violent altercation on 7 August. A 77‑year‑old Eritrean driver, a 46‑year‑old Bangladeshi man, and a 41‑year‑old Bangladeshi supporter were involved; the latter was struck with a metal rod and hospitalized with injuries expected to heal in about six days. The suspect was detained by the Carabinieri on charges of personal injury, threats and illegal weapon possession.

Separately, in the town of Castronno, Varese province, police and emergency services responded to a street fight on Via Roma on the evening of 6 August. The clash involved three individuals—a 14‑year‑old, a 16‑year‑old and a 57‑year‑old man. All were taken to Gallarate Hospital for treatment of non‑serious injuries and later released. The incident is under investigation by local Carabinieri.
