Italy sees violent thefts: shop thief bites guard, woman robbed and bound at home

In Genoa, a 41‑year‑old woman stole merchandise from a shopping centre, fled the checkout and bit a security guard on the arm when he tried to stop her. The guard was taken to hospital in critical condition, and the woman was arrested and will appear before a judge.

In the outskirts of Turin, a woman was forced into a home robbery where she was tied up and threatened with a gun. The intruders stole about €30,000 in valuables before fleeing, and police captured one suspect on surveillance footage.

Both incidents were responded to by police and resulted in arrests and ongoing investigations.
