Italy Sets Dates for 2027 Maturità Exams
The Ministry of Education and Merit, led by minister Giuseppe Valditara, issued an ordinance outlining the timetable for the 2027 Maturità examinations. The first written test – Italian language – will take place on Wednesday 16 June 2027 at 08:30, with a supplementary session scheduled for 1 July 2027 at the same hour. The schedule applies to students in licei, technical and professional institutes, as well as adult second‑level courses.
The ordinance also details the school calendar for the 2026‑2027 academic year, listing national holidays such as All Saints’ Day (1 Nov 2026), Immaculate Conception (8 Dec 2026), Christmas and St. Stephen (25‑26 Dec 2026), New Year’s Day (1 Jan 2027), Epiphany (6 Jan 2027), Easter and Easter Monday (28‑29 Mar 2027), Liberation Day (25 Apr 2027), Labour Day (1 May 2027) and Republic Day (2 Jun 2027). Recent additions include the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on 4 Oct. Regional school start dates vary, with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano beginning on 7 Sept, most other regions between 10‑16 Sept, and Puglia on 17 Sept.
