Italy signs protocol to promote culture and language globally

Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli and Andrea Riccardi, president of the Società Dante Alighieri, have signed a memorandum of understanding at Palazzo Firenze to strengthen the global promotion of Italian culture and language.

The agreement establishes a joint program covering various sectors, including the arts, archaeology, live performances, cinema, and audiovisual media. These initiatives will be implemented in countries where the Società Dante Alighieri operates, supported by the network of Italian diplomatic representations abroad.

Key components of the partnership include promoting Italian publishing and literature, as well as initiatives like the ‘Culture Passport,’ which provides meritorious students abroad with free access to major Italian museums. The protocol also aims to highlight historic Italian villages to attract cultural investment and diversify tourism. Minister Giuli described the alliance as a concrete project to address Italian identity and strengthen spiritual ties for citizens living abroad.
