Italian fencing team wins double gold at 2026 World Championships in Hong Kong
Italy topped the medal table at the 2026 World Fencing Championships in Hong Kong, China, by winning gold in both the men’s team foil and the women’s team épée. In the men’s foil final the Italian quartet of Tommaso Marini, Guillaume Bianchi, Filippo Macchi and Tommaso Martini defeated the host Hong Kong team 45‑44, giving Hong Kong a silver medal. Individually, Martina Favaretto captured the women’s foil title, defeating veteran Arianna Errigo, who took silver.
