Italy tax deadlines converge on August 20

August 20 marks a significant date in the fiscal calendar, serving as a consolidated deadline for various tax obligations due to summer suspension rules. Under these regulations, payments originally due between August 1 and August 20 can be made by the 20th without penalties.

For the public gaming sector, concessionaires face three specific requirements. These include payments for dormant gaming accounts, the single tax for various online gaming categories (including skill games and fixed-odds games), and the remittance of prescribed winnings and uncollected refunds from physical betting networks. Specific tax codes are required for these transactions, such as 5380 for dormant accounts and various codes for remote bingo and skill games.

On a broader scale, the date acts as a summer 'tax day' for taxpayers, professionals, and businesses. The official schedule includes approximately 140 different types of payments, covering Irpef, Ires, Irap, VAT, withholdings, and substitute taxes.
