Italy to host 30th National Food Drive on November 14

The 30th National Food Drive, organized by the Fondazione Banco Alimentare ETS, is scheduled to take place across Italy on Saturday, November 14. The initiative aims to collect non-perishable food items, such as oil, legumes, canned vegetables, rice, and breakfast products, to support individuals in need.

In the Liguria region, the event will involve over 7,000 volunteers across more than 440 supermarkets. The collected food will be distributed through 370 partner organizations, including soup kitchens and community centers, which assist more than 63,000 people in the region. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Banco Alimentare della Liguria ODV.

Nationwide, the campaign expects to engage over 160,000 volunteers in approximately 12,000 supermarkets. In Sicily, the Banco Alimentare network supports 322,121 people through 834 partner organizations. The theme for this edition is “Gestures that build peace,” emphasizing solidarity and social connection.
