Italy to host discussions on AI ethics and human dignity

Several upcoming events in Italy will address the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and its impact on human dignity and society.

On September 19, 2026, the “Technology and Development: The Person at the Center” conference will take place in Assisi at the Colle del Paradiso Convention Center. Organized as part of the Cortile di Francesco, the event features experts from academia, ethics, finance, and business, including ethics expert Paolo Benanti and journalists' union president Carlo Bartoli. The discussion aims to explore how technology can remain a tool for the common good.

Additionally, on October 2, 2026, a webinar titled “Guarding Humanity: AI and Human Dignity in Light of Magnifica Humanitas” will be held. Promoted by the Italian Catholic Jurists Union and the MEIC movement, the session will feature legal and scientific perspectives. Speakers include Luisa De Renzis from the Court of Cassation, Agnese Camilli, and Leonardo Cosmai from the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, focusing on the intersection of AI, law, and scientific research.
