Italy to host major cycling initiatives for inclusion and tourism

Two major cycling initiatives are set to promote inclusion and sustainable tourism in Italy.

The InSuperAbile 2026 project will begin on August 17 with a symbolic bicycle journey from Brescia to Livorno. On August 19, the sixth edition of the inclusion relay will officially launch from Livorno to Olbia, marking the first time the event will take place in Sardinia. Participants will traverse 353 kilometers of the Cammino di Bonaria, passing through nine geographic areas and 29 towns to honor Sardinian associations and promote social inclusion for people with and without disabilities.

Separately, the “South Italy Greenways” roadshow is scheduled to depart from Capo Nord on August 13, 2026. This three-month cycling adventure aims to promote four major South Italian national parks: Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni; Appennino Lucano Val d’Agri Lagonegrese; Pollino; and Aspromonte. Following the Eurovelo 7 route across nine European countries, the project seeks to highlight sustainable tourism and the biodiversity of the protected areas spanning Campania, Basilicata, and Calabria.
