Italy to host national cycling championships and historic cross country race

Piasco, located in the Valle Varaita, will host the Italian Individual Time Trial Championships on October 24, 2026. Organized by ASD Velo Club Esperia Piasco with support from the Italian Cycling Federation, the event will feature categories including Allievi, Juniores, Under 23, and Women Elite/U23. The courses are designed for speed, with 13 km for Allievi and Juniores and 19.7 km for the remaining categories.

In Cavaria con Premezzo, the historic Cross Country 7 Campanili running race returns on October 18, 2026. Established in 1914, this long-standing competition features a 15 km course that connects seven bell towers across Cavaria, Santo Stefano, Oggiona, Orago, Jerago, Premezzo, and Cajello. The event holds significant historical value, having been won in its early years by Olympic athlete Carlo Martinenghi.
