Italy to resume construction on 428 anti-seismic schools

Construction projects for 428 anti-seismic schools across Italy are set to resume in October. This follows a successful campaign to secure 463 million euros in refinancing after previous European Investment Bank funding expired due to delays caused by the pandemic and administrative issues.

Franco Corbelli, leader of the Movimento Diritti Civili, noted that the initiative includes 31 schools in Calabria. The restart of these works follows a government decree issued in June 2025 by Ministers Valditara and Giorgetti, aimed at addressing seismic risks in educational facilities.
