Italy tobacco prices increase by 20 cents

Starting October 14, 2026, tobacco prices in Italy have increased following a notice from the Customs and Monopolies Agency (Adm). The price hike applies to 13 brands of processed tobacco, including shredded tobacco and two types of cigars, as well as 14 brands of non-combustion inhalation tobacco, specifically iD and iSENZIA sticks.

In both categories, the price increase is set at 20 cents per unit. This adjustment follows a series of price hikes throughout 2026 driven by progressive increases in excise duties.

Future price increases are projected under the 2026 Budget Law technical report. Traditional cigarettes are expected to see an average increase of approximately 25 cents per pack in 2027, with further average increases of 40 cents per pack anticipated in 2028.
