Italy tourism: Autumn activities in Val Brembana and Merano

Autumn offers diverse outdoor and cultural opportunities in the Italian regions of Val Brembana and Merano.

In Val Brembana, located in the Bergamo Prealps, hikers can explore over 600 kilometers of trails, including the historic Mercatorum and Priula routes. One recommended itinerary leads toward the Laghi Gemelli refuge via the Pizzo dell’Orto slopes, passing through forests and the Pian Casere dam. The area is noted for its medieval villages, such as Cornello dei Tasso.

In the Merano area, the season is characterized by vineyard and orchard walks, grape harvests, and apple picking. The town of Scena hosts the ‘Sapori d’autunno’ event from late September to November, highlighting local culinary traditions. This includes the South Tyrolean custom of Törggelen, which celebrates new wine and chestnuts.
