Italy public transport undergoes regional service and schedule updates

Various regions across Italy are implementing significant updates to public transportation services. In Molise, the regional government has authorized the extension of the SATI S.p.A. bus line to San Bartolomeo in Galdo to assist students and commuters. In L'Aquila, new schedules and route changes for local bus lines will take effect on September 16 to accommodate the new school year.

Railway services are also seeing changes. FS Sud Est is introducing a new winter schedule starting September 14, which includes increased connections in the Bari metropolitan area and the reactivation of the Lecce-Nardò-Gagliano del Capo line in October. Meanwhile, the Fl5 line is experiencing disruptions due to strikes and scheduled maintenance, requiring commuters to use replacement buses or adjust to new departure times through October 11.

Other regional initiatives include the expansion of bus services to the TIARE Shopping center in Villesse and the renewal of subsidized transport subscriptions for vulnerable citizens in the Parma district through the ‘Mi Muovo Insieme’ program. In Sardinia, commuters in Dolianova are calling for a unified ticketing system to allow seamless travel between Arst and private bus operators.
