Italy: Transport updates in Lazio and new logistics training in Gorizia

In the Lazio region, several infrastructure and transport updates are in effect. On the A24 motorway, works to requalify safety barriers at the Pittaluga tunnel have caused closures between the Est ring road and the Portonaccio junction through August 28. In Rome, the Lepanto metro station is closed until August 30 for requalification works, and the Roma-Viterbo railway is experiencing total service interruptions on the urban stretch until August 24 due to maintenance at the Tor di Quinto substation, with buses replacing trains.

Additionally, regional authorities have noted traffic congestion on the Via Litoranea and implemented heavy vehicle restrictions on motorways during the mid-August holiday period. A public awareness campaign has also been launched to prevent wildfires, following significant forest loss in the region during 2025.

In Friuli Venezia Giulia, regional assessor Alessia Rosolen announced a new biennial ITS course in Gorizia focused on logistics and intermodal transport. The program, promoted by the Fondazione Accademia Nautica dell’Adriatico, aims to address local labor needs in the logistics, agri-food, and wine sectors, leveraging Gorizia’s strategic border location.
