Italy: Two elderly men found safe after disappearance

Two separate incidents involving missing elderly individuals in Italy have resulted in successful rescues.

In Agrigento, an 80-year-old tourist from Molfetta disappeared while visiting the Temple of Concordia in the Valley of the Temples. Following an alarm raised by his wife, search operations involving the Carabinieri, fire brigade, and archaeological park staff lasted several hours. A drone was utilized to assist in the search. The man was eventually located in a state of confusion between Villaseta and the Sant’Anna clinic and was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.

In a separate event, an 89-year-old man disappeared from the province of Fermo. After his vehicle was tracked via mobile phone positioning, the State Police located him in Civitanova Marche during the early hours of the morning. The man was found in his car in a confused, trembling, and sweaty state. He was reunited with his family and taken to the hospital for necessary medical checks.
