Italy two-wheel vehicle market shows growth amid stagnation concerns

The Italian two-wheel vehicle market reported 33,061 registrations in September, marking a 7.86% increase and the ninth consecutive month of growth. For the first nine months of 2026, total sales reached 324,911 units, an increase of 10.87% compared to the previous year.

Despite these positive percentages, AICMOTO warns of underlying stagnation. The association notes that the motorcycle segment only saw a net gain of 5,416 units from January to September compared to 2025. To illustrate the scale of this slow growth, the Honda SH 125 scooter alone recorded 16,658 registrations in the same period, more than triple the entire net growth of the motorcycle sector.
