Italy unveils €1,500 tuition bonus for low‑income private school students

The Italian government has activated a €1,500 annual bonus to help families with an ISEE of €30,000 or less cover tuition at private (paritarie) schools. The measure, funded with €20 million for 2026, applies to students in secondary schools of first grade (middle schools) and the first two years of upper secondary schools, while excluding nursery, primary and the final year of high school.

The bonus was made operative after an inter‑ministerial decree signed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Finance received clearance from the data‑protection authority. Applications must be submitted online through the UNICA‑MIM platform, using a digital identity (SPID, CIE, etc.) and providing the student’s data, school details, IBAN and any regional aid already received. The regional school office will then transfer the funds to the nominated account after verifying the information.
