Italy updates digital terrestrial TV channel lineup and frequencies

Italian broadcasters have announced a new update to the national digital terrestrial television (DTT) multiplexes. The revision introduces new frequencies for national multiplexes, requiring viewers to retune their televisions or set‑top boxes to avoid missing channels or encountering outdated channel numbers. The change affects major networks such as Rai and Mediaset as well as smaller operators like Cairo, Persidera and D‑Free, with channels including Rai 1‑3, Iris, La 5, TGCOM24, Boing, Cartoonito, TV8, Real Time, Food Network, Discovery, DMAX and Giallo.

Viewers are advised to run an automatic channel search from the device menu; the scan updates the channel list within minutes if the signal is stable. Regional variations may cause slight differences in channel assignments, particularly in Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria and the Tyrrhenian coastal areas. The update comes ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, ensuring uninterrupted reception of all free‑to‑air services.
