Italy infrastructure: New Novara bypass and highway upgrades
Various infrastructure and safety developments are underway across Italy. In Novara, ANAS has inaugurated a new 5.1 km stretch of the bypass, a strategic project involving five steel viaducts and three junctions to improve regional logistics.
On the A6 Torino-Savona highway, Autostrada dei Fiori is implementing a 2 million euro technological upgrade, including LED lighting and intelligent surveillance cameras to enhance safety and reduce energy consumption by 45%. Similarly, the A14 Bologna-Taranto will face overnight closures between Faenza and Imola for paving works, while the A14 near Termoli has experienced closures due to debris on the road.
Local municipalities are also addressing safety and utility needs. Monza is installing 24-hour camera surveillance near San Gerardo Hospital to control unauthorized vehicle access. In Ladispoli, new speed bumps are being installed on high-traffic roads like via Palo Laziale. In Ferrara, a 3 million euro cycling path has been completed to connect Boara to the city. Meanwhile, in Spezia, Italgas will conduct nighttime gas pipe replacements, and in Cesate, citizens are protesting the approval of a new data center due to concerns over local consultation and acoustic impacts.
