Italy women's rugby squad named for WXV series in USA

Italy's women's national rugby team head coach, Plinio Sciamanna, has announced a 30-player squad for the upcoming WXV Global Series matches in the United States. The team will face the USA Eagles in two consecutive matches: the first in Mansfield, Texas, on the night of October 17-18, and the second in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 24.

The squad features a mix of veteran players, such as Elisa Giordano and Michela Sillari, alongside newcomers like Laura Foscato and Giorgia Cuoghi. However, the team will be missing several key players due to injury or precaution, including Silvia Turani, Gaia Maris, Veronica Madia, and Margherita Tonellotto.

The Italian squad is scheduled to depart from Bologna for Dallas on Saturday morning to begin preparations in Texas before moving to Tennessee.
