Italy's Anas reopens Statale 18 in Bagnara and closes SS205 Amerina for upgrades
Anas, the Italian state road operator, announced that the traffic‑light system on the Statale 18 (Tirrena Inferiore) in Bagnara Calabra has been removed, allowing full two‑way traffic after safety works on the slope were completed. The agency warned that occasional temporary restrictions may still be required for remaining consolidation works.
Separately, the Statale 205 "Amerina" between Orvieto and Baschi will be closed to all traffic from 29 June to 3 July for a €12.5 million improvement project. Detours for cars and heavy vehicles have been set up, with the aim of widening the carriageway, straightening curves and allowing simultaneous two‑way heavy‑vehicle traffic.
Both projects are intended to improve safety and traffic flow on these regional routes in Italy.
