Italy's Dual System achieves 75.8% employment rate for graduates
A final report on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) regarding Italy's dual education system shows an employment rate of 75.8% for qualified individuals and graduates 24 months after completing their training. Some sectors saw employment peaks as high as 82.2%.
The €600 million investment aimed to fund 90,000 additional individual vocational training and higher technical education paths. However, the program exceeded its targets significantly, producing 189,375 certifications—210% of the original goal—and reaching these milestones one year ahead of schedule. Additionally, 92% of enrollees achieved a certified educational outcome.
Labor Minister Marina Calderone noted that the integration of training and work has allowed thousands of young people to convert skills into concrete job opportunities. Regional data shows strong performance in Southern Italy, with Puglia reaching 242% of its target, Sicily reaching 188%, and Campania seeing a 588% increase in enrollees compared to the 2020-2021 academic year.
