Italy's Education Minister tightens homework and testing rules
Italian Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara has announced a new, stricter circular regarding the assignment of homework and the scheduling of school assessments. The measure aims to ensure a more balanced workload for students.
Valditara emphasized that homework must not be assigned late in the evening for the following morning, stating that assignments should be recorded in physical student diaries. Additionally, the Minister urged schools to avoid concentrating multiple tests and oral examinations on the same day to allow students sufficient time for calm and effective preparation. He concluded by reminding educational institutions that ministerial circulars must be strictly respected.
