Italy's Education Ministry targets 100,000 technical students and sets state exam filing deadline

Minister Giuseppe Valditara outlined the goals of the 4+2 technical‑professional reform, aiming to enroll 100,000 students in the four‑year pathway within five years. The reform links secondary schools, ITS Academies and businesses, with enrollment already doubled for the 2026/27 year and notable growth in the south. The number of schools authorised to offer the 4+2 track rose from 180 to 396, creating over 600 programmes nationwide.

Separately, the Ministry set a strict deadline for the electronic submission of state‑exam documents: schools must complete the “plico telematico” by 12:00 p.m. on 16 June 2026. The deadline applies to all institutions conducting the exams and is non‑extendable, requiring precise administrative preparation to avoid disruptions in the exam process.
