Giuseppe Costa’s €300,000 Property Seized in Anti‑Mafia Operation

The Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA) ordered the seizure of a renovated property in Custonaci valued at roughly €300,000. The measure, issued by the Tribunal of Trapani, was based on a disproportion of about €300,000 between Costa’s declared income and his assets.

Giuseppe Costa, a 62‑year‑old figure linked to the Custonaci branch of Cosa Nostra, had previously received a definitive 25‑year sentence for mafia association and involvement in the kidnapping and murder of the young Giuseppe Di Matteo. After serving his term, he was re‑arrested in 2020 and again in 2023 on charges of mafia association, fraudulent value transfers and extortion. The latest asset‑seizure follows those investigations and targets the immobile that was rebuilt in violation of urban‑planning regulations.
