The Pastasciutta Antifascista tradition, begun in Campegine by the Cervi family after the fall of Mussolini on 25 July 1943, is being celebrated in dozens of Italian towns. Local ANPI sections organize events that distribute pasta as a symbolic reminder of freedom and solidarity.

Recent gatherings took place in Sciacca, where ANPI president Alida Alessi led the ceremony in Piazza Angelo Scandaliato on 26 July, and in Gavorrano, where the event raised €1 080 for the humanitarian charity Emergency. Similar events were held in Asiago, Camini (featuring a reading titled “Cum Panis – Vite Resistenti”), Enna, and other municipalities across the country. Proceeds from the pasta festivals are regularly donated to Emergency to support medical and humanitarian aid.

A shelter intended for a Pastasciutta Antifascista gathering was vandalised, and a separate “Pomeriggio Antifascista” meeting in Galbiate focused on solidarity with Cuba, also linking the July 25 commemoration to contemporary humanitarian concerns.
