Italy's Liberation Day ceremonies in Udine and Orte

In Udine, the mayor Alberto Felice De Toni addressed the April 25, 2026 Liberation Day ceremony, recalling the historic fight against fascism and denouncing contemporary extremist slogans displayed near the Deganutti Technical Institute. He highlighted the legacy of the Italian Resistance and warned against attempts to rewrite history.

In Orte, the April 25, 2017 celebration featured mayor Angelo Giuliani, former partisan Salvatore Federici, and the local ANPI president Massimo Recchioni. The speakers stressed the democratic values born from the Resistance, the importance of upholding the Constitution, and the need to confront recent neofascist activity in nearby municipalities.
