Italy's Minister Adolfo Urso outlines new industrial acceleration zones with regional leaders

Minister Adolfo Urso met with regional representatives, including Molise President Francesco Roberti, at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy to review tools that boost investment. The discussion highlighted the ZES Unica model for the South, which has streamlined authorisations and attracted capital. Roberti said, "La ZES Unica può rappresentare un volano decisivo per attrarre investimenti e sostenere la crescita del nostro territorio."

The government also presented a plan for "industrial acceleration areas" in the North, a new instrument under the forthcoming European Industrial Accelerator Act. The scheme aims to simplify procedures, support site reconversion and position Italy as a hub for critical raw‑material supply chains. Officials intend to bring regional proposals to the EU and use the measures as part of the Meloni administration’s agenda ahead of upcoming elections.
