Italy's Ministry of Culture launches 'Ierofania' travelling arts exhibition across six regions

The Italian Ministry of Culture has inaugurated "Ierofania – Sulle vie del Sacro", a multidisciplinary cultural programme that will travel from July 18 to September 27, 2024. The itinerant series will visit six locations in the Centre and South of Italy – Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily – offering a mix of theatre, visual art, music, performances and guided tours aimed at linking historic sites with contemporary artistic expression.

Organised by the Department for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage (DiVa) with support from the Central Institute for Economic Valorisation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage (IC‑VEPP), the programme features works by Salvador Dalí, Nicola Verlato, concerts by Ambrogio Sparagna, readings by Galatea Ranzi and Roberto Latini, and site‑specific installations. In Locri (Calabria), the itinerary includes the exhibition "Archetype" by Antonio Taschini, a sound collage by Hang Dub, a debate titled "Il canto del Creato", and a dance performance by Zappalà Dance Company, among other events. The initiative seeks to foster a new relationship between cultural heritage, local communities and contemporary languages.
