Italy's Ministry of Enterprises hosts quantum computing industry consultation
The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, in collaboration with Anitec-Assinform and the Politecnico di Milano, held a plenary meeting to discuss the national quantum computing ecosystem. The event brought together over one hundred representatives from companies, universities, and research centers to analyze results from a second public consultation in the sector.
The initiative aims to define future industrial policies and technology transfer guidelines. This process seeks to align national efforts with the upcoming European Commission Quantum Act. Technical data collected during the consultation will guide the allocation of research resources and support the country's digital sovereignty in high-speed computing contexts.
Minister Adolfo Urso emphasized that quantum technologies represent a major industrial transformation. He stated that Italy has the opportunity to become a leader in the technological supply chain by developing new value chains and fostering interdisciplinary skills.
