Italy's National Cybersecurity Agency launches youth education campaign

The Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (ACN), in partnership with the online learning platform Skuola.net, has begun a nationwide cyber‑education campaign aimed at students. The programme will produce training videos and social‑media content on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn, explaining the importance of cybersecurity, outlining emerging professional roles, and showing daily activities involved in protecting Italy’s digital space.

At the same time, the consumer association Federconsumatori reported a sharp rise in digital fraud cases across Italy. New scams increasingly rely on deep‑fake audio, video and AI‑generated voice cloning, as well as impersonation of family members to extract money. Federation president Laura Grandi highlighted the growing psychological and financial impact on victims and warned that the expanding use of digital tools in everyday transactions makes fraud prevention a pressing concern.

Both initiatives underscore the country’s effort to raise public awareness of cyber threats, improve digital literacy among young people, and protect consumers from sophisticated online scams.
